I knew I wanted to have a castle on the layout. The only castle model I could find that fit the space perfectly is a kit by the German company Kibri of an Italian castle called "Burg Branzoll". I based the appearance of my model off the way the real-life castle looks, including the crazy vines on the tower. An entire wall on the main 'house' part had to be re-built, roof adjusted, custom chimney and rain gutters added to match the real thing. Fiber optics were used for spot lights - but one mistake I made was using super glue to glue them - never do that! Always use white (wood/paper) glue or regular plastic cement.

Found at the Scrap Exchange in Durham.... a complete N Scale model railroad including track, landscape, bridges and even a voltage controller! Took a while to convince myself (and my wife) that a second model railroad was even in the cards but it was only $25 and I knew I could put it inside a coffee table in our den.
